Valley Forge Medical Center has become the First Addiction-Free Pain Management® Center of Excellence in their new chronic Pain Management program. In addition to addiction specific treatment, Valley Forge Medical Center (VFMC) offers Chronic Pain Management (CPM) services developed specifically for those patients suffering from co-occurring issues of chronic pain and substance abuse and/or addiction. Many of the VFMC staff have been trained by Dr. Grinstead in the Addiction-Free Pain Management® system and are implementing this model to provide positive outcomes for their chronic pain patients. The American Academy of Pain Management is the largest multidisciplinary pain society and largest physician based pain society in the United States. The Academy is a nonprofit multidisciplinary credentialing society providing credentialing to practitioners in the area of pain management.

The American Society for Pain Management Nursing is an organization of professional nurses dedicated to promoting and providing optimal care of individuals with pain, including the management of its sequelae. This is accomplished through education, standards, advocacy, and research.

Chronic Pain Anonymous (CPA)

CPA is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so that they may solve their common problem and help others recover from the disabling effects of chronic pain and chronic illness. We believe that changing attitudes can aid recovery. The only requirement for membership is a desire to recover from the emotional and spiritual debilitation of chronic pain or chronic illness. There are no dues or fees for CPA membership.
